TYRESE Haliburton played a perfect game and the Indiana Pacers moved a win away from reaching the NBA Finals with a 130-121 win over the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday (Philippine time), May 28.
Haliburton piled up 32 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds, and four steals in a stellar performance that saw him not committing a single turnover in 37 minutes of play. The 12th overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 2020 NBA Draft became the first first player with such a stat line in the postseason since turnovers were first tracked in 1977-78.
Pascal Siakam added 30 points for the Pacers, who now hold a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series. Indiana will take its first of three chances to seal a second NBA Finals appearance when the series shifts to New York for Game 5 on Friday, May 30.
Ben Mathurin also provided the Pacers a huge spark, coming off the bench to add 20 points. Indiana starters Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner also scored in double figures with 16 and 13 markers, respectively.
Jalen Brunson scored 31 points to lead the Knicks, who also got 24 points and 12 rebounds from Karl-Anthony Towns. OG Anunoby finished with 22 points as New York trailed throughout the match and could not duplicate its 106-100 win in Game 3, where it wiped out a 20-point deficit.
The Pacers led by as many as 15 markers in Game 4 and found a way to quell any Knicks uprising.(CCM)
