THE Boston Celtics picked up from where they left off last June while the Lakers triumphed in a momentous night for Lebron James and son Bronny.

On a night that they hung their 18th championship banner and received their championship rings, the Celtics waxed from three-point territory to decimate the hapless New York Knicks, 132-109.

Boston, which won the championship last season at the expense of the Dallas Mavericks, dropped 29 three-pointers to tie an NBA record for most trifectas made in a single game.

Boston’s starting unit composed of Jason Tatum, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford each made at least three three-pointers in the blowout win.

Tatum was an astounding 8-of-11 from the rainbow area and led the Celtics with 37 points and 10 assists. White made six triples to score 24 points while Brown had five trifectas in a 23-point performance.

Holiday added four triples and scored 18 points while Horford dropped three three-pointers and had 11 markers. Sam Hauser had a pair of triples to become the sixth Celtic in double figures with 10 markers.

New York could only convert 11 triples with Jalen Brunson top scoring for the team with 22 points. Karl-Anthony Towns had a dismal debut as a Knick as he scored just 12 points.

Meanwhile, LeBron and son Bronny became the first father-son pair to play together in NBA history and both went home victorious after the Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 110-103.

History was made when the father and son checked into the game together with four minutes left in the second quarter.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 36 points and 16 rebounds. Rui Hachimura added 18 points while LeBron tallied 16 markers.

Bronny played for just two minutes and went scoreless after missing all of his two attempts from the field.(CCM)
