MORTASEAL and EZ Bond earned a piece of the early lead, blasting separate opponents to make it two-in-a-row in the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 2nd Mortabond Cup last Sunday, March 16, at the Benedicto College Gymnasium in Cebu City.

Mortaseal routed Premium, 90-75, improving to 2-0 (win-loss) after getting a good follow-up of its 70-63 beating of Mortaflow on the opening day.

Also improving to 2-0 was EZ Bond, which pulled off another cardiac win by escaping Strakgout, 55-53. EZ Bond started its campaign in the newly opened tournament with a narrow 76-74 victory over Lite.

Lite quickly rebounded from that sorry loss to EZ Bond by eking out an 82-74 triumph over Mortaflow.

Mark Bajenting led the way for Lite with a game-high 29 points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals, and one block. Backing Bajenting were Manuel Niere and Zach Go, who tallied 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Philip Alegado finished with 22 points and seven rebounds for Mortaflow, while Rhyan Pepito collected 19 points and 10 rebounds.

EZ Bond, on the other hand, got a huge lift from Justin Aspacio, who raked in 21 points, two rebounds, and one steal. Carl Abellana and Kim Rebosura added 11 markers each.

Mito Parba topped Strakgrout with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Jomar Watin dropped 10 markers.

Ferdinand Tiro led Mortaseal with 15 points, Klein Baladya and Kurt Damandaman each had 13 markers, while Jolas Lastimosa tallied 12.

Chester Hinagdanan paced Premium with a 29-point, 10-rebound performance.(CCM)
