MODERN Windows and Jotun cruised to easy wins to draw first blood in their respective semifinal series in the Cebu Architect Basketball Club (CABC) 7th Corporate Club 2025 on Saunday, August 31, at the Game Changer Sports Center in Mandaue City.

Modern Windows whipped Boysen, 92-77, while Jotun dominated North Coast, 85-72, as the winning teams took a 1-0 lead in the separate best-of-three affairs.

John Buhawe did the heavy damage for Modern Windows, coming up with a dominant 27-point, nine-rebound performance.

Michael Cinco backed Buhawe with 12 points and seven rebounds while Aris Vilan, Ferdinand Tiro, and Almart Marquita added 10 points apiece as Modern Windows used a balanced attack to lead by as many as 31 points.

Joseph Cabigas tallied 23 points and eight rebounds, Carlos Baltazar pitched in 16 markers, Justin Aspado added 15 points, and Kim Rebosura had 13 points for Boysen Paints.

Jotun, on the other hand, drew solid games from Philip Alegado (20 points), Chester Hinagdanan (14), Buck Sia (11), Alvin Rival (11), and Kurt Damandaman (10).

Ian Lapina collected 16 points and 11 rebounds, Manuel Niere unloaded 13 markers, and Adrian Halaghay tossed in 12 points for North Coast, which couldn’t recover after falling behind by double digits in the second quarter.(CCM)
