THE Makati Football Club (MFC) Cebu lived up to its lofty billing when it ruled the Players' 6 division of the 24th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Dynamic Herb Borromeo Sports Complex over the weekend.

MFC Cebu copped the championship crown with a dominant 3-0 win over Real Galaxy in their title match.

Seth Gabriel Enopia, Luis John Malinao, and Banksy Maynard Estremos accounted for MFC Cebu’s goals, finding the back of the net at the 3rd, 17th, and 19th minute, respectively.

MFC Cebu also had an easy time in the semifinals where it also blanked Cebu United FC, 2-0, to earn a trip to the championship round.

Real Galaxy FC, on the other hand, made it to the title round by stunning the favored Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles in the semifinal duel, 4-2.

SHS-AdC bounced back from that semis loss by trouncing Cebu United FC, 4-1, in the battle for third.

Meanwhile, the Final Four cast in the Players' 8 division has been completed.

Leading the Players’ 8 division semifinalists is Sugbu Calidad FC, which nosed out Bato Spartans FC, 3-2.

Also winning in the other quarterfinal duels were Don Bosco FC-C, Real Galaxy FC, and MFC Cebu.

Don Bosco FC-C dominated sister-team Don Bosco FC-B, 2-0, Real Galaxy FC dumped Looc FC, 3-1, while MFC Cebu whipped Cebu Football Club (CFC) Academy, 3-1.

In the semis slated October 12, Sugbu Calidad FC will face MFC Cebu while Don Bosco FC-C will clash with Real Galaxy FC.(CCM)
