Actor David Licauco expressed his excitement about meeting former Japanese adult film star Maria Ozawa for the first time.

In a recent segment on "24 Oras Weekend," Licauco shared his starstruck reaction during the taping of their upcoming series, "Pulang Araw."

In the series, Licauco takes on the role of Hiroshi Tanaka, the son of Japanese immigrants in the Philippines, while Ozawa plays his mother, Haruka Tanaka.

Licauco recounted, "I was coming up and suddenly saw Maria Ozawa. I was surprised and amazed by how beautiful she looked."

Known as "Pambansang Ginoo" from his role as "Fidel" in the popular historical fantasy series "Maria Clara at Ibarra," Licauco had previously gone viral in January when he mentioned "Maria Ozawa" as a name associated with "Maria" on a "Family Feud" episode.

Ozawa responded to the viral clip by calling Licauco "cute."

"Pulang Araw" also features Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo.

Following her retirement from adult films, Ozawa transitioned to a career in the Philippines and was in a nearly five-year relationship with celebrity chef and actor Jose Sarasola, which ended in 2022.(MyTVCebu)
