Marcos' satisfaction rating crashes to record-low 34%

TRUST in President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has dropped to a record-low 34 percent in the second quarter of the year, according to a survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The June 20 to 29 Stratbase-commissioned survey found only 34 percent of the respondents had “much trust” in the President, down one point from 35 percent in the March survey.

Meanwhile, respondents who had “little trust” in Marcos increased from 38 percent to 45 percent, while undecided respondents dropped from 26 percent to 19 percent.

The recent survey results revealed Marcos had a resulting net trust rating of -11, obtained by subtracting those who had little trust from those who had much trust in the President.

It is the President’s lowest net trust rating compared to his net trust rating of -3 in both the November 2025 and March 2026 surveys.

“The latest figures continue a downward trend from the President’s 64 percent trust rating in July 2024,” Stratbase said in a Philstar report. “Trust steadily declined throughout 2025, briefly recovering to 48 percent in June 2025 before falling again over the succeeding months to 34 percent in the latest survey.”

Ahead of Marcos’ fifth State of the Nation Address, Stratbase Institute president Dindo Manhit said the recent survey is an opportunity for the administration to address the concerns of the public and outline its priorities for the remainder of its term.

In the Stratbase-commissioned survey, VP Sara Duterte was able to sustain her trust rating of 57 percent.

However, those who had “little trust” in her also increased from 22 percent to 27 percent, while undecided respondents dropped from 20 percent to 15 percent.
