Man killed in Naga road accident

CEBU CITY—A man was killed while his companion was injured after the pick-up truck they were riding rammed a trailer truck along a national highway in Barangay Langtad, Naga City, Cebu early morning on Saturday, September 14.

The fatality was identified as Robert Jimenez, legal age.

Police said the driver of the Toyota Hi-lux, John Reggie Vivar, 24, was also injured. The truck’s other passenger, Aaron Mata, 34, was unharmed.

Police said the trailer truck driven by Jayson Marven Cabrillos, 25, was parked at the side when it was rammed by the private vehicle at 4:40 a.m.

Lt. Col. William Himoc, chief of the Naga City Police Station, said Cabrillos was released after it was proven that the truck was properly parked when the incident happened.

Homoc added that the driver of the pick-up vehicle and his passengers were drunk based on the result of the liquor test.(YEP)
