Man accused of raping daughter nabbed

A MAN accused of raping his daughter was arrested in Naga City, Cebu on Tuesday morning, April 7.

Police said the 50-year-old suspect was listed as the No. 7 “most wanted person” in Region 4B.

Police said that when the abuse happened last year in Oriental Mindoro, the suspect fled and was later discovered to be hiding in Cebu.

Police said the suspect had been living in Toledo City, Cebu before he was tracked down in Naga.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Cebu City Field Unit arested the suspect on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Presiding Judge Erwin Yumol Dimayacyac of the 4th Judicial Region Branch 42 in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro.

The arrest warrant issued on Nov. 13, 2025 stated that the suspect is facing three counts of qualified rape and one count of acts of lasciviousness.

A P180,000 bail was recommended for the acts of lasciviousness charge but the suspect will remain in jail as the rape charges are non-bailable, police said.

The suspect will be turned over to authorities in Region 4B, police said.(CDB)
