#KATHDEN did it!
THE highly-anticipated film of blockbuster stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards “Hello, Love, Again” has positioned itself in the history of Philippine cinema as the highest-grossing film of all time, reaching over a P1 billion gross income.
According to ABS-CBN Films, Hello, Love, Again is the first Filipino movie that surpassed P1 billion in income at the worldwide box office with P1,06 billion in earnings at the worldwide box office as of November 23.
Almost two weeks after it was opened in theaters nationwide on November 13, then eventually worldwide, the story of Joy and Ethan continues to catch the hearts of its audience, growing more moviegoers who are curious about what is in store for the sequel of Hello, Love Goodbye (which was shown in theaters in 2019).
The highest-grossing film of all time title was claimed by HLA from Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s “Rewind” movie in 2023 (an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival ) which ended with P924 million earnings. At the time, Rewind took the title from #KathDen’s original film Hello, Love, Goodbye which had P880 million in gross sales.
Kathryn and Alden first starred in HLG, a film about two Filipino workers based in Hong Kong. The love story starts when Joy (Kathryn’s character) is employed in a bar where Ethan (Alden’s character) also works as a bartender.
In HLA, Joy, who became a nurse in Canada, reunites with Ethan with struggles in their relationship but ends up being together again.
The film is directed by Cathy-Garcia-Sampana.
HLA is also showing in Hong Kong, Macau, North America, the Middle East, and Europe, among others.(LAO)
