Game 5, Best-of-Seven Finals
Series tied, 2-2
7:30 p.m.- TNT vs. Brgy. Ginebra
A CRITICAL 3-2 lead is at stake when the defending champions TNT Tropang Giga and the Barangay Ginebra Kings face off in Game 5 of the 49th PBA Governors’ Cup Finals on Wednesday night, November 6, at the Araneta Coliseum.
The series is tied at two games apiece after the Kings staged a major fightback.
A sweep looked a possibility earlier when the Tropa won the first two games of the series. TNT dominated Game 1, 104-88, then scored an equally convincing win in Game 2, 96-84.
Ginebra then woke up in Game 3, avoiding what could have been a deep 0-3 hole by tallying an 85-73 victory. The Kings completely changed the complexion of the series when they pulled off a dominant 106-92 win in Game 4, reducing the best-of-seven title series into a short race-to-two affair.
By winning the last two games of the series, momentum has clearly shifted to Ginebra’s side.
TNT’s loss spoiled Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s winning of the Best Import award.
Hollis-Jefferson is expected to figure in a dogfight with his counterpart as Ginebra’s own reinforcement Justin Brownlee is raring to get a good follow-up of his 34-point explosion in game 4.(CCM)
