THE Final Four race heats up as four squads that are in the running for a semifinal berth see action in the high school division of the 24th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) Basketball Tournament on Saturday, November 9, at the Cebu Coliseum.
Kicking off the quadruple-header is the 12:30 p.m. match between the defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles and the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildkittens.
The Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves and the University of San Carlos (USC) Baby Warriors in the second while the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancers and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers (USPF) tangle in the third match.
The main game will feature a lone college division duel between the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters and the University of the Philippines (UP)-Cebu Fighting Maroons.
SHS-AdC, CIT-U, UV, and USPF are all among the seven teams that are in a Final Four contention.
The Magis Eagles are second in the team standings with a 6-1 (win-loss) record, just slightly behind the University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars, who are 7-1.
UV is tied with UC and the Cebu Eastern College Dragons for the third to fifth spots with identical 6-2 cards. CIT-U is at sixth place with a 5-3 ledger while USPF is at seventh spot with a 4-3 slate.
DBTC and USC are at the bottom of standings with 2-6 and 0-7 ledgers, respectively.
In the college division action, UC is out to keep its unblemished record intact. The Webmasters lead the standings with a perfect 5-0 record.
UP-Cebu is second to the last in the rankings with four losses and a solitary win.(CCM)
