FILIPINO-American artistic gymnast Levi Ruivivar is bent on qualifying for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles but is also open to exploring opportunities in entertainment and modeling.
Levi has given the entertainment industry a try after she recently signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency.
Levi’s interest in the entertainment industry comes as no surprise, given her family's background in acting. Her father, Anthony Ruivivar, is a recognized actor in the U.S., famous for his role as paramedic Carlos Nieto on the acclaimed series “Third Watch,” which aired from 1999 to 2005.
Additionally, he voiced Bruce Wayne/Batman in the animated series “Beware the Batman” and has appeared in films such as “Race the Sun” alongside Halle Berry.
Levi’s mother, Yvonne Jung, is also in the acting field as a producer. The couple met in college and later collaborated on “Third Watch,” where they portrayed romantic interests.
Although primarily dedicated to gymnastics, Levi is no stranger to acting; she participated in the short film “Girl Power” in 2017 and voiced a character in the children’s animated series “Doc McStuffins.”
At just 18 years old, Levi has already represented the Philippines at the 2024 Olympics in Paris and achieved a bronze medal on the uneven bars at the 2024 Asian Games.
Since representing the Philippines, she has experienced an increase in her following, which she enjoys.
While she acknowledges the challenge of balancing a demanding gymnastics training schedule—up to 34 hours a week—with acting, she is open to short-term projects like commercials.
Levi is also gearing up for her freshman year at Stanford University.(CMM)
