Father, son killed in Toledo road crash

A 40-YEAR-OLD man and his 10-year-old son died in a vehicular accident in Barangay Media Once, Toledo City, Cebu.

Police identified the fatalities as Reycarte Natad Nebres and his son Emmanuel.

Police said the victims were aboard a motorcycle driven by Reycarte when the accident happened along a national highway past 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Investigation conducted by the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Toledo City Police Station showed that Reycarte tried to overtake a tractor driven by Ariel Brayog Camoro, 48, of Barangay Ibo, Toledo.

As he was about to overtake, Reycarte hit the side of the tractor that caused him to lose control of the wheel. The victims were thrown off the motorcycle and landed hard on the concrete pavement, police said.

The victims were brought to the Toledo City General Hospital where they were declared dead.

The tractor driver was taken into police custody for further invetigation.(CDB)
