CEBUANO behemoth June Mar Fajardo is on track of winning yet another accolade in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The 6-foot-10 Fajardo holds the record for most Best Player of the Conference (BPC) awards in the league with 11. At the rate things are going in the 49th PBA Commissioner’s, the native of Pinamungajan, Cebu is poised to extend that record as he currently leads the statistical points in the mid-season conference.

Fajardo, who also owns a league-record eight Most Valuable Player awards, leads the current BPC race with 44.8 statistical points after averaging 19.8 points, 17.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest in the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup.

Trailing Fajardo is NorthPort’s Arvin Tolentino, who has 40.6 SPs. NLEX’s Robert Bolick is at third with 37.6 SPs.

Tolentino is averaging 24.7 points to go with 8.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.1 blocks while Bolick has 24.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 1.1 steals a game.

On the other hand, NLEX reinforcement Mike Watkins led the Best Import derby with 54.9 SPs anchored on averages of 25.4 points, league-leading 24.1 rebounds and 3.0 blocks.

Trailing Watson is NorthPort’s Kadeem Jack and Ginebra’s Justin Brownlee.

Jack has 50.7 SPs courtesy of his averages of 30.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks. Brownlee has 50.2 SPs with averages of 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks.

In the race for the Rookie of the Year award, Converge’s Heading is on top of the ladder with 33.1 SPs followed by Ginebra’s RJ Abarrientos, who has 27.7 SPs.(CCM)
