CEBU Normal University (CNU) is ending the year with a bang as 44 top performers in the 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), with families and loved ones joining the celebration to cheer their success.

Of the 44 topnotchers, 15 excelled at the Elementary Level and 29 at the Secondary Level.

During the awarding ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 23, CNU President Dr. Daniel Ariaso, Sr. expressed pride in the achievement.

“It is a great honor to have you here for the first time in 123 years, earning 44 top 10. You make us very proud and happy,” he said.

Highlighting the school’s performance, he added, “Secondary is 97 percent. And we are number 1 in the country for secondary.”

CNU ranked 4th nationwide for the elementary level with a passing rate of 93.53 percent and claimed the 1st spot for the secondary level with an impressive 97.57 percent passing rate, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

All topnotchers will receive cash incentives. First placers are awarded P100,000; 2nd and 3rd placers receive P70,000; 4th and 5th placers get P50,000; and 6th to 10th placers receive P30,000.

The Elementary Level top 10 include:

Top 1: Christel Zamora De Los Reyes – 94.40 percent

Top 3: Marsha Mae Mantalba Tapic – 93.60 percent

Top 4: Vinci Miguelle Narca Agua, Kyna Samantha Reyes Capuno, Marjoe Mejias – 93.40 percent

Top 5: Mary Frances Racines Veliganilao – 93.20 percent

Top 7: Saint Mark Lloyd Benagles Cinco, Renashel Espinoza Condrillon, Francelle Henriett Sonsona Pasay – 92.80 percent

Top 9: Bench Yasmin Getaruelas Canencia, Erica Largo – 92.40 percent

Top 10: Grace Lee Tuyogan Endrina, Jheane Tac-an Peñas, Jiolla Mariz Gutierrez Reuyan, Rhea Cassandra Villaruel Tisoy – 92.20 percent

For the Secondary Level, the top 10 are:

Top 1: Jed Vincent Requilme Abadia – 94.80 percent

Top 2: James Brian Pantilgan Banag – 94.60 percent

Top 3: Christine Ese Salmero Perez – 94.40 percent

Top 7: Jechrister Jireh Melgo Echavez, Janine Petalcorin Gonzaga, Genebie Laranjo, Princess Rhina Garnace Pahayahay, Ellen Rose Goc-ong Sodoso, Ela Lois Bendanillo Tuhoy – 93.60 percent

Top 8: Ferree Anne Lesondra Alvios, Jesyl Aloba Cabahug, Ma. Victoria Vargas – 93.40 percent

Top 9: Angele Alcantara Calipondan, Danika Ma. Louise Bonggot Minoza, Jerald Catamco Panugaling, Jake Arcenal Pradilla, Rocky Otugay Santander, Clara Mae Monceda Tangpos – 93.20 percent

Top 10: Lera Jane Catayas Camangyan, Rheisa Jakosalem Camiguel, Jamaica Rascen Gallardo Claro, Frederick Barasan Fernandez, Billy Joe Abanes Maurillo, Jann Denzelle Blanco Nudalo, Krizcia May Simbajon Ombos, Jhana Mae Abanid Orenda, May Bern Richelle Aumentado Saldo, Joselle Mark Tonion Serna, Jasmin Baguio Tenebroso – 93.00 percent

Ariaso reflected on the significance of the topnotchers’ success.

“You make us very proud and happy because out of 122,528 takers nationwide, the top 1 is from Cebu Normal University. Not just one but two,” he said.

Ariaso reminded the students that success extends beyond personal pride.

“It’s not only yourself, your family, your friends that are up today. It’s the entire Cebu Normal University,” he said.(MyTVCebu)
