CHINESE boxer Dianxing Zhu will have the much-needed moral support when he embarks on what could be his biggest of his career.

A group of Zhu’s compatriots will be flying in to show their support for Zhu, who will take on Cebuano fighter Ian Abne in the main event of Fist of Fury 10: The Eliminator on May 9 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Lorenzo “Chao” Sy, the promoter of the highly anticipated boxing extravaganza, said the arrival of the Chinese delegation was confirmed by Robin Wang, the manager of Zhu.

“29 Chinese from Shanghai, China have reserved VIP tickets through Wang,” Sy said.

The delegation’s effort to fly all the way from China highlights the significance of the fight.

Both looking to inch closer to a world title shot, Zhu and Abne will clash in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight world title eliminator.

The winner of the fight will earn a shot at Pedro Taduran, the current IBF minimumweight king.

It had been announced that Taduran, one of only two active Filipino world champions, will be at ringside for the Abne-Zhu showdown.

The 26-year-old Abne of ARQ Boxing Stable will be putting his unbeaten record on the line. He will come into the fight with 12 wins, four by knockout, no losses, and two draws.

Abne’s mettle will be heavily tested by the 29-year-old Zhu, a certified knockout artist.

Zhu has piled 16 wins, 14 by KO, with only one loss.

The card will also feature John Paul Gabunilas, who will be ending a two-year hiatus against Ramil Roda.(CCM)
