EXPECT rainy days ahead.
Cebu will see more cloudy skies, rainshowers, and thunderstorms over the weekend and into next week, state weather forecasters said Saturday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that a low-pressure area (LPA) located 140 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar, at 3 a.m. is fueling unstable weather across the Visayas.
Meanwhile, easterlies continue to affect parts of Luzon.
Weather forecast for Metro Cebu are as follows:
Saturday, Sept. 13 – Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; light to moderate northwest to southwest winds; slight to moderate seas; 25°C–31°C
Sunday, Sept. 14 – Cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms; light to moderate winds; slight to moderate seas; 25°C–29°C
Sept. 15–17 (Mon–Wed) – Generally cloudy with chances of localized rainshowers or thunderstorms; light to moderate southwest to south winds; slight to moderate seas; 25°C–31°C
Pagasa cautioned that rain could become heavy at times, triggering flash floods and landslides in low-lying and mountainous areas.
The same LPA will also bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of the Visayas, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Zamboanga del Norte.
Elsewhere, the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated showers from the easterlies, while most of Mindanao will experience localized thunderstorms.
Moderate winds and moderate seas are expected over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, while light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the country.
Residents are advised to stay updated on advisories and take extra precautions, particularly in flood- and landslide-prone areas.(TGP)
