Cebu City police implement fuel-saving measures
THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is implementing its own measures to conserve fuel.
Lt. Col. Franco Rudolf Oriol, information officer of CCPO, said that with diesel and gasoline breaching the P100-mark per liter price, steps have to be taken to ensure the efficient use of fuel.
Upon the instruction of Col. George Ylanan, chief CCPO, Oriol said policemen were reminded to avoid vehicle idling.
Even the simple way of switching off the blinkers when police cars are not in use was also recomended.
When conducting patrols at night, policemen were advised not use airconditioning unit to further save on fuel.
Despite the soaring fuel prices, Oriol said the city government did not slash its fuel allocation for the police.
While CCPO looks for ways to save on fuel, timely response to emergencies will not be affected, said Oriol.
“We make sure nga continue gyud ang atung police response in case naay mga emergency,” said Oriol.(CDB)
