CBS China Bank Savings, the country’s second-largest thrift bank, has expanded its presence in the Visayas and Mindanao regions as part of its aggressive growth strategy. The bank recently opened new branches in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, and South Coast Center in Talisay City, Cebu. Additionally, CBS relocated its Davao-Toril branch to a more spacious location at G Mall of Toril. The two new branches in Davao opened on November 7 and 8, followed by the Talisay branch in Cebu, which opened on November 18.
With these openings, CBS now has a total of 38 branches, APD centers, and branch-lites in the Visayas and 35 in Mindanao, bringing its total to 73 branches in the VisMin region.
James Christian T. Dee, President of CBS China Bank Savings, traveled from Manila to lead the branch inaugurations in VisMin. He expressed, “We are excited to continue CBS’ growth in the VisMin region, unveiling new, optimized spaces designed to better serve our clients and partners. This region, rich in agricultural products, culture, and tourism, plays a vital role in our nation’s business landscape.”
Dee also reaffirmed CBS’ commitment to the VisMin community: “We are dedicated to enhancing your banking experience and providing financial solutions that align with our brand promise of Easy Banking for You.”
CBS has been highly active in the region. The bank was a sponsor of the 33rd Mindanao Business Conference in General Santos last September, where it engaged with business leaders to discuss innovative financing practices for SMEs. Additionally, CBS has organized Financial Wellness programs for Department of Education faculty and staff across various Visayas and Mindanao locations, offering guidance on personal finance management. The CBS APD Lending Group also supported the DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela 2024 initiative with donations across the region.
CBS China Bank Savings, the retail banking arm of China Banking Corporation, operates a network of 170 branches, over 100 APD lending centers and branch-lites, and 216 ATMs nationwide. The bank remains committed to meeting the financial needs of SMEs and retail customers, while also enhancing the quality of life in the communities it serves.
