CEBU Business Month (CBM) 2026 officially opened with a renewed push for collaboration and innovation, as business and government leaders rallied stakeholders to help shape Cebu’s future amid global economic uncertainties.

Celebrating its 30th year, the flagship initiative of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry carries this year’s theme, “Padayon Cebu,” highlighting the resilience and determination of the Cebuano community.

During the opening salvo on Friday, May 22, CCCI President Regan Rex King said CBM continues to serve as a platform for partnerships, economic action, and new opportunities.

“CBM stands as both a proud celebration of our collective success, and a powerful catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and economic progress,” King said.

He noted that industries worldwide are facing rapid changes, disrupted supply chains, and volatile markets, stressing that Cebu must continue adapting to remain competitive.

“In a world moving this quickly, standing still is not an option,” he said.

King added that this year’s CBM aims to turn “conversations into commitments, ideas into investments, and partnerships into programs that people can actually feel in their lives and communities.”

Held at SM Seaside City Cebu, the event gathered business leaders, entrepreneurs, and government officials, including Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro.

Baricuatro said the “Padayon Cebu” theme reflects the province’s ability to move forward despite recent challenges and disasters.

“Despite all of that, Cebu kept moving forward. Nipadayon ta ug kanunay,” the governor said.

She also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve healthcare, infrastructure, food security, disaster preparedness, and ease of doing business to encourage more investments and support local enterprises.

Meanwhile, CBM 2026 Overall Chairman Bryan Yap said this year’s program was designed as “one connected progressive summit series under a single master plan.”

The month-long initiative will feature four major summits focused on investment and entrepreneurship, technology and innovation, MICE and tourism, and design-driven business.

“CBM 2026 is not just a series of events. It is a shared strategy for keeping Cebu competitive, relevant and future ready in the rapidly changing world,” Yap said.(MyTVCebu)
