MISS Universe 2018 Catriona Gray experienced a distressing robbery during her family vacation in London.
On Saturday, August 31, Gray shared the incident on her Instagram Story, posting a photo of a car with a shattered rear window.
The robbery occurred while she and her family were having lunch on their way to the airport.
“Our passports and belongings — gone,” Gray wrote, describing how the experience left her feeling “traumatized.” She has not yet provided further updates on the situation.
Gray had traveled to the United Kingdom for a special family trip, which included a road trip from London through Scotland and back.
On August 23, she posted about the trip on Instagram, emphasizing its significance for her father, Ian Gray, who was born in Scotland and grew up in Australia.
In an August 30 post, Gray described their visit to Fraserburgh, a small coastal fishing village in Scotland where her father was born.
“Fraserburgh, my dad’s birth town - a small fishing village along the coast. Although none of the original houses my dad lived in / was born in remain, we visited the streets themselves: Barrasgate Street and explored the town,” she wrote.
Gray expressed her appreciation for the trip, saying, “It’s my first time in Scotland and my dad’s first time back to his homeland since he immigrated to Australia at the age of 7 back in 1952.”
Gray, who gained international recognition after winning Miss Universe in 2018, has consistently shown her dedication to advocacy work and her heritage.
Born in Australia to a Scottish father and a Filipina mother, Gray has used her platform to promote education and culture, especially focusing on supporting underprivileged children in the Philippines.
In addition to her title as Miss Universe, Gray is also an accomplished singer, model, and television host.(MyTVCebu)
