Catriona Gray joined pickleball players in Cebu for Dink for Water, a community play session organized by Waves For Water (W4W) Philippines and supported by local sports platform Onda Fit to raise funds for clean water access in vulnerable communities.

Held at Thirsty Pickle last August 31, the session brought players together for a morning of open play, with every registration going directly to W4W Philippines.

Gray, the official ambassador of W4W Philippines, joined the community session as part of her continued support for the organization’s clean water advocacy. She had previously taken part in W4W field missions, including clean water missions in Siquijor and Cebu that provided filtration systems and hygiene facilities to remote communities.

Dink for Water was supported by Onda Fit, a Cebu-based homegrown digital booking and payment platform for sports courts, gyms, fitness studios, and wellness facilities. Onda Fit handled player registration, court coordination, and community mobilization for the event, allowing players to sign up through the same platform they use to book regular games.

The partnership brought together Onda Fit’s growing sports community and W4W Philippines’ clean water advocacy, turning a familiar recreational activity into an opportunity to support communities in need.

“This partnership with W4W Philippines shows how something we love—like playing pickleball—can also make a difference beyond the court. Through this collaboration, we hope to bring our players together to support fellow Filipinos in need and help provide access to clean water in communities across the Philippines,” said Patricia Loren, Onda Fit Corp.’s CEO.

The event also supported Pilipinas4Water, W4W Philippines’ flagship giving initiative. Through the campaign, everyday purchases are turned into micro-donations that help fund clean water access and disaster response.

Dink for Water extended the same idea to the pickleball court, creating a way for people to contribute through an activity they were already doing.

“At W4W Philippines, we believe in doing what you love and helping along the way. Dink For Water is a great example of how something as simple as coming together to play pickleball can create an opportunity to make a difference. As Pilipinas4Water takes its first steps as our flagship fundraising campaign, we’re grateful to Onda Fit for giving us a platform to jumpstart the initiative and build support for clean water access across the Philippines,” shared Carlo Chen-Delantar of W4W Philippines.

Since its founding in 2013, Waves For Water Philippines has worked to provide clean water access to remote and underserved communities across the country. The organization has positively impacted more than 2,000,000 Filipinos, with 34,502 water filters implemented, 163 rainwater catchment tanks built, and 1,394 stand-alone handwashing stations installed.

Waves For Water Philippines is a certified donee institution accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
