Buhawe wreaks havoc, powers Mortaflow over EZ Bond in CABC Mortabond Cup

JOHN Buhawe wrought havoc over the weekend, steering Mortaflow to a 64-61 win over EZ Bond in the continuing action of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) 2nd Mortabond Cup at the Benedicto College Gymnasium in Cebu City.

Buhawe finished with 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals, and five assists in a stellar performance that helped Mortaflow snap a two-game slide and chalk up its first win in the tournament.

Buck Sia and Fritz Devenadera backed Buhawe with 10 points each.

Justin Aspacio and Kim Rebosura fired 10 markers each to lead EZ Bond, which stumbled after starting the tournament with back-to-back wins.

On the other hand, Mortaseal grabbed the solo lead in the standings after it sank Lite, 69-61.

Ferdinand Tiro tallied 18 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Jolas Lastimosa added 10 markers as Mortaseal improved to 3-0 (win-loss).

Lite, which was led by Mark Bajenting’s game-high 22 points, crashed to 1-2.

In the other game, Premium tallied its second win in three games after edging Strakgout, 60-55.

Kimboy Marilao and Chester Hinagdanan paced Premium with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Pido Sanchez contributed 13 points in the win.

Despite Criz Matunog scored 19 points in Strakgrout’s third defeat in as many games.(CCM)
