Big games up in Roxas City

STAKES have gotten higher as all is set for the do-or-die semifinal round of the Roxas City Invitational Basketball Tournament.

The remaining four teams battle in a pair of crucial games at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 25.

The La Salle University Green Archers clash with the Adamson University Soaring Falcons at 5 p.m. while Brian Kerle Basketball, the visiting team from Australia, tangle with the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas at 7 p.m.

Winners will play for the championship.

Kerle Basketball emerged as the top seed after completing an impressive 4-0 (win-loss) sweep in the elimination round. Adamson came in second with a 3-1 record while La Salle wound up third with an even 2-2 slate.

Perpetual ranked fourth with a 1-3 record. Booted out of playoff contention was University Athlete Center, which went winless in the four-game elimination round.

Numbers favor Brian Kerle and Adamson in the semifinals.

In the eliminations, Brian Kerle dumped Perpetual Help, 78-60, while Adamson nipped La Salle, 72-69.(CCM)
