Baby Wildcats keep Greywolves winless
THE Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Baby Wildcats showed no mercy, pounding winless Don Bosco Greywolves, 80-64, in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Season 26 secondary basketball tournament on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Baby Wildcats continued their impressive showing in the season, turning what was once a close game into a lopsided contest when they unloaded back-breaking 51-28 rally in the middle quarters to seize a 71-49 lead entering the final canto.
The decisive run came after the Baby Wildcats fell behind after the first 10 minutes of play, 20-21.
Leading CIT-U was Florence Lloyd Cawit fired 18 points. Theo Maxim Santiago and Vincent Zamora backed Cawit by dropping 14 and 10 markers, respectively.
The Baby Wildcats, thus, stayed atop the standings with an impressive 5-1 (win-loss) record.
Francis Angelo Dosdos, Peter James Brobo, and Zamora grabbed at least seven rebounds each, conniving for 22 boards that helped CIT-U dominate the rebounding battle, 56-32.
Zhen Francis Ancheta and Zayne Oddyssie Ondoy scored 11 points each while Jason Liam Arriba had 10 but the Greywolves still couldn’t make it to the win column with their sixth straight defeat.(CCM)
