IT’S green and go for the 1st DH25 Men’s Open Volleyball Tournament after organizers were finally able to choose a venue for much-anticipated games.

From the original three-day competition, organizers, led by tournament manager Blake Diao, have also decided to reduce the tournament into a two-day affair.

Diao announced that the tournament will be held at the University of Cebu – Maritime Education and Training Center (UC-METC) in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on September 14-15.

The tournament was originally set from September 13-15 at the University of San Carlos Downtown Campus.

Diao said 20 matches will be played on the first day with the top two teams in each of the four brackets moving to the playoff round.

Leading Bracket A are Cebu Governor’s Cup champions Naga Atong Garbo, former CESAFI champions CIT-U Wildcats, WFW Bankers, Endrablos, and Lowkey Cebu.

Seeing action in Bracket B are CESAFI defending champions USJ-R Jaguars, Khalifa, Dacarys, UCLM, Amigos, and Don Paolo.

Bracket C will have the USC Warriors, UC Valyrians, Oras Punto Diagnostics, Assassins, and Safelinx Allstars while Bracket D will feature UP Cebu Fighting Maroons, San Fernando Volitans, UC Baby Webmasters, Ribshack, and DPWH Regional Office 7.

A whopping P50,000 cash prize will be given to the champion while the losing finalist will get P15,000. The second runner-up will get P15,000 while P5,000 will be given to the third runner-up I the tournament that is spearheaded by Acting Cebu City Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros.(CCM)
