REYMART “Cebuano Assassin” Tagacanao has yet to taste a single loss. He hopes to stay that way but will have to do it in foreign soil.

Carrying the banner of Villamor Boxing Gym and PMI Boxing Promotions, the pride of Carcar City, Cebu will embark on his first-ever fight abroad as he is set to trade leather with Japanese fighter Ayumu Sano on Oct. 25 in Kyrgyzstan.

At stake in the fight is Tagacanao’s World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia super flyweight title.

The 26-year-old Tagacanao is off to a blistering start, winning all of his first 10 pro fights, including eight knockout wins.

Tagacanao’s last fight happened in July that saw him score a second-round technical knockout win over Jaysever Abcede in the main event of “Kumong Bol-Anon 21” in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Just like Tagacanao, Sano is off to an unbeaten start.

Sano, a 22-year-old native of Shizuoka, Japan, has 10 wins, five by knockout, with one draw.

Sano is no stranger to fighting a Cebuano as he previsouly defeated Yeroge Gura of the Cebu City-based ARQ Boxing Stable to win the WBC Youth World super flyweight title.(CCM)
