THE Ormoc City Division remained the king of the hill after they ruled the recently concluded 2025 Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Evraa) Meet.
Ormoc collected 291 gold medals, 134 silvers, and 68 bronzes in a massive haul that made them the overall champion for the straight time.
Ormoc was also the overall champion in 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024. The annual multi-sport event was shelved in 2020, 2021, and 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
By raking in a whopping 421 medals, Ormoc improved its medal-haul last year, where it collected 411 medals composed of 219 golds, 118 silvers, and 76 bronzes.
Ormoc Mayor Lucy Torres announced that the city government will be awarding cash incentives to its medallists.
Gold medallists in individual competitions will get P5,000 each while the silver and bronze medallists will receive P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
A gold medal in team events is worth P30,000 while silver and bronze are equivalent to P20,000 and P10,000, respectively.
This year’s EVRAA meet was held in three legs. The first leg was held in Dolores, Eastern Samar while the second and third legs were hosted by Maasin City and Tacloban City, respectively.
Tacloban also hosted the closing and awarding ceremonies that were attended by Torres-Gomez and husband Leyte 4th Distric Rep. Richard Gomez as well as embers of the Ormoc Development Team and personnel of the Department of Education Ormoc Division.
Trailing Ormoc in the overall ranking was Leyte Division, who wound up with 72 golds, 48 silvers, and 57 ka bronzes.
Maasin finished third with 29 golds, 32 silvers, and 26 bronzes. Baybay City landed at fourth place with 22 golds, 35 silvers, and 51 bronzes. Tacloban collected 22 golds, 35 silvers, and 57 bronzes for a fifth-place finish.
