THE talent-laden Barangay Ginebra Kings have gotten stronger after it acquired one of the skilled forwards in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Six-foot-seven forward Troy Rosario has joined Ginebra after testing the free agency waters that saw him receive offers from his former team TNT Tropang Giga and the Converge FiberXers.

Rosario, the second overall pick by the Mahindra Enforcer in the PBA 2015 Rookie Draft, became an unrestricted free agent after he refused to resign with the Blackwater Bossing where he played for two years.

Rosario averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the Governors’ Cup where Blackwater ended up with a 5-5 (win-loss) record and failed to advance to the quarterfinal round.

The versatile forward will give the Kings a much-needed shot in the arm as the team is dealing with injuries to some players, including Jamie Malonzo.

The 32-year-old Rosario could appear in his first game in a Ginebra uniform when the Kings battle the NLEX Road Warriors in the 49th PBA COmmissioner’s Cup on December 11 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Commissioner’s Cup will open on Wednesday, November 27.(CCM)
