KRYOCRETE leaned on Karlo Taboada to earn its first victory, beating Biorust, 78-76, in the Architects and Engineers Basketball Club (AEBC) Buildrite Cup 2025 over the weekend at the University of San Carlos (USC) Downtown Campus gym.

Taboada was efficient from the floor where he made 12 of his 15 points to finish with a whopping 33 points. Taboada also had six rebounds, three assists, and two steals as Kryocrete arrested a two-game slide.

Aquim Bordomeo backed Taboada with 18 points.

Criz Matunog tallied 25 points and nine rebounds, Mark Paradero chipped in 18, while Mario Parba and Ferdinand Tiro contributed 12 and 11, respectively, but Biorust couldn’t survive a depleted seven-man roster to fall to 0-2 (win-loss).

In the other match, Blockout improved to 2-0 by tallying a 65-56 triumph over Confix.

Riz Paran topped Blockout with 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal while Jan Manalili and Victor Omega each had 10 points.

Nino Araw-Araw scored 14 points and Juan Miguel Dela Torre added 12 as Confix dropped top 1-1.

Also improving to 2-0 was eanwhile, Makaw, which escaped Handy Fix Grip, 69-65.

Levi Sinson spearheaded Makaw with 24 points. Jarryd Jon Ong added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Handy Fix Grip fell to 0-2 despite getting 24 points from Austin Antiniero.(CCM)
