NO STEPHEN Curry, big problem for the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors heavily felt the absence of the injured Curry and lost badly to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 93-117, in Game 2 of their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series on Friday (Philippine time), May 9.

Curry was out due to a left hamstring strain that he suffered in their 99-88 Game 1 victory. The injury could keep Curry out for at least until next week, multiple reports said.

Curryโ€™s absence was greatly felt by the Warriors from the start as they scored just 15 points in the opening period.

Minnesota ended the first quarter with a 14-point lead. Golden State rallied within seven points in the third quarter but Minnesota had an answer, restoring a fat 85-65 lead with only one period to play.

The Wolves actually outscored the Warriors in each of the fourth quarters for the easy series-tying win.

Julius Randle topped the Wolves with 24 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Anthony Edwards added 20 points but briefly left the game due to a sprained ankle.

Reserve Nickeil Alexander-Walker also scored 20 points for Minnesota.

Jonathan Kuminga scored 18 points, Jimmy Butler had 17, while Buddy Hield and Trayce Jackson-Davis each added 15 for Golden State, which will travel home to host Games 3 and 4.

Game 3 of the series will be played on Sunday, May 11.(CCM)
