THE New York Knicks moved on the cusp of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals and in the process sent the defending champions Boston Celtics on the brink of elimination.
Jalen Brunson produced big numbers to power the Knicks to a 121-113 win over the Celtics in Game 4 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals on Tuesday (Philippine time), May 13.
Brunson piled up 39 points and 12 assists as the Knicks seized a 3-1 series lead to inch closer to their first East Finals appearance in 25 years.
Game 5 of the series will be hosted by the Celtics on Thursday, May 15.
Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns each added 23 points and OG Anunoby chipped in 20 markers.
Boston will try to become the 14th team in the league to come back from a 1-3 series deficit. But things are not rosy for them after Jayson Tatum was carried off the court after sustaining a leg injury in the final 2:58.
Tatum had scored 42 points, his highest scoring output in the playoffs, before he was hurt.
Derrick White sank six triples and scored 23 points for the Celtics. Jaylen Brown had 20 markers in the loss.(CCM)
