THE Golden State Warriors banked on Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski to defeat the LA Lakers, 123-116, on Friday (Philippine time), April 4.
Curry scored 37 points and Podziemski made a career-high eight three-pointers to add 28 markers as the Warriors prevailed in what could be a potential first-round playoff preview.
The Warriors padded their winning streak to four and improved to 45-31 (win-loss). The Lakersโ two-game win streak was snapped as they fell to 46-30.
If the playoffs started today, the two squads will have an early postseason meeting as LA is at fourth spot in the Western Conference standings while Golden State is at fifth place.
It was only the first time this season that the Warriors prevailed over the Lakers. LA won their season-series, 3-1.
The Lakers won their first meetings against the Warriors, 115-113, 118-108, and 120-112. The Lakers couldnโt make a clean sweep as Luka Doncic went 0-for-6 from three-point distance to finish with just 19 points.
LeBron James led the Lakers with 33 points and nine while Austin Reaves added 31 points, including nine triples. Rui Hachimura contributed 24 points.(CCM)
