DEADLY scorer Mikey Williams is set to strut his wares again in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Missing in action for almost three years, Williams has signed a one-year deal with the Converge FiberXers, giving the team a much-needed firepower for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup, which will open on March 11.

Williams joined the league in 2014 as the fourth overall pick by the TNT Tropang 5G in the draft. The deadly shooter won two championships with the Tropa but stepped away from the team due to contract issues.

In June 2025, Converge acquired the rights to Williams in exchange for Jordan Heading.

After a back-and-forth negotiation, the 6-foot-2 Williams and Converge finally came to terms, a major development that further strengthened the FiberXers’ wing position.

Williams took to social media to announce his return.

“It’s all God. Just like that, it begins,” wrote the 34-year-old Williams, who will be forming a solid backcourt trio with Juan Gomez de Liano and Alec Stockton.

The FiberXers also figured in trades while the league was on break, including a deal that allowed them to acquire the energetic Calvin Abueva.

The FiberXers will start their Commissioner’s Cup campaign against foreign guest team Macau Black Bears.

Seven-foot American center Kylor Kelley has been tapped as Converge’s import in the mid-season conference.(CCM)
