THRILL-SEEKERS can once again enjoy the exciting river activities at Kabutongan Falls, located at the border of Malabuyoc and Ginatilan, as operations are set to resume on November 30.

This announcement followed a strategic meeting with Governor Gwen Garcia, local mayors, and key provincial officials, including Malabuyoc Mayor Erlinda Piedad, Ginatilan Mayor Roy Vincent Singco, Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, Board Member Red Duterte, and Provincial Tourism Officer Marti Ybaรฑez.

The reopening comes on the heels of comprehensive training for 114 local guides, 43 from Malabuyoc and 71 from Ginatilan, conducted by the Department of Tourism.

The program emphasized crucial safety protocols, first aid, and customer service skills, mirroring the training standards set for canyoneering guides in the nearby towns of Badian and Alegria.

This initiative aims to ensure that visitors can enjoy a safe and exhilarating experience while exploring the natural wonders of Kabutongan Falls.

Adventure seekers can enjoy the Kabutongan Falls experience for a starting price of P1,250, which includes trekking, river jumping, and exploring the scenic cave system known for its stunning rock formations and crystal-clear waters.

The adventure itinerary straddles Barangay Looc in both municipalities, allowing local governments to collaboratively manage the visitor experience and share the resulting revenue equally.

In preparation for the reopening, both municipalities have worked to enhance the siteโ€™s infrastructure, ensuring that pathways and safety measures meet the required standards.

Local officials have also emphasized the importance of preserving the natural environment and wildlife in the area, encouraging visitors to respect the beauty of Kabutongan Falls during their adventures.

To enhance the reopening festivities, the local government units are contemplating the introduction of fun incentives for visitors, such as treasure hunts and contests for the best photo and vlog, encouraging guests to showcase their adventures and the natural beauty of the falls.

These activities are designed to engage the community and promote local tourism, providing a platform for visitors to share their experiences and connect with the vibrant culture of the region.

As the municipalities look forward to welcoming visitors, they are optimistic that the renewed interest in Kabutongan Falls will foster economic growth and enhance community development in both Malabuyoc and Ginatilan.(MyTVCebu)
