HARD-HITTING Arlando “The Punisher” Senoc knocked out Jeric Noynay in a dominant performance that netted him the World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific Youth flyweight title in the main event of “Bakbakan sa Naga 5” on Sunday night, Dec. 21, at the Enan Chiong Activity Center in the City of Naga, southern Cebu.

Senoc, the 22-year-old prized fighter of the Mandaue City-based Big Yellow Boxing Gym, kept his immaculate slate intact, capturing his eighth straight win highlighted by seven knockout victories.

The impressive run saw Senoc win his last five five fights via KO.

Noynay suffered his second straight loss after racking five straight wins for a 5W-2L slate.

Senoc was the busy fighter from the start, delivering solid hits to the head body and that forced Noynay to backpedal.

It was in the fifth round that Senoc delivered the fight-sealing blow, tagging Noynay in the midsection with an uppercut. Noynay dropped to the canvas and failed to beat the referee’s count, icing Senoc’s impressive victory.

It was actually a triumphant night for Big Yellow fighters as aside from Senoc, it had four fighters beating their respective opponents for a clean 5-0 sweep in the card presented by Championship Boxing Development of the Philippines in partnership with Big Yellow Promotions and the City of Naga, led by Mayor Val Chiong.

Carlo Demecillo pulled off a second-round knockout win over Justine Darap, Reycar Auxilio needed just three rounds to beat Michael Adolfo, John Dominic Ledres scored a unanimous decision victory over Jeriel Quisto, while James Lloyd Valdez also emerged victorious against Norman Rusiana.

Fighters from the Bohol-based PMI Bohol Boxing Stable also shone bright.

Angilou “Pinoy Ali” Dalogdog won by technical decision over Dennis Gaviola, Richard Laspona came away with TKO win over Arvin John Sampaga, while Datu Adam posted a first-round KO win over Clenton Kier Espere.(CCM)
