THE College of St. Benilde (CSB) Blazers made it two-in-a-row after they manhandled the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 87-62, in the 2025 Cebu City Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament on Friday morning, August 22, at the Cebu City Sports Institute Gym in Barangay Sawang Calero.

Following up their convincing 69-62 victory over the Adamson University Falcons on Thursday night, the Blazers tightened their grip on the No. 1 spot of the standings with a clean 2-0 (win-loss) slate.

Justine Sanchez shone bright for the Blazers as he led the victory with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Jio Gonzaga added 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal, former Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu stalwart Raffy Celis had nine markers while SJ Moore and Shawn Umali put in eight points each.

Leading the Jaguars were Shawn Grava and Fritz Gonzales, who collected 13 points each.

USJ-R, which fell to 0-2, managed to keep the game close early, forcing seven ties and three lead-changes.

The Blazers, however, asserted their might in the second half, ending the third period with a whopping 70-43 lead to ice the lopsided victory.(CCM)
