BEYONCÉ has made history after becoming the most-nominated artist of all time at the Grammy Awards, surpassing her husband, Jay-Z, with 89 nominations.

The pair were tied with 88 nominations each, but Beyoncé pulled ahead this year, thanks to her latest album Cowboy Carter, which earned her 11 nominations.

The nominations include key categories such as Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Song of the Year for the track "Texas Hold 'Em."

Beyoncé, already the most awarded artist in Grammy history with 32 solo wins and three more with Destiny’s Child, is once again leading the race for music's most prestigious honors.

This year’s 11 nominations make her the female artist with the most nominations in a single year, a feat previously unmatched.

In addition to Beyoncé, this year’s Grammy race is highly competitive. Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Charli XCX all earned seven nominations each, while Taylor Swift’s latest album The Tortured Poets Department has secured her a seventh nomination for Album of the

Year.

The Beatles also made headlines, receiving a nomination for Record of the Year with “Now and Then,” a posthumous John Lennon track completed using AI technology.

Despite her many accolades, Beyoncé has never won the coveted Album of the Year Grammy. She has been nominated four times in the category.

This year, she faces stiff competition from Swift, a four-time Album of the Year winner, as well as rising stars like Charli XCX and Eilish, whose experimental third album Hit Me Hard and Soft is also in the running.

Other notable nominations include André 3000, whose instrumental album New Blue Sun surprised many by securing multiple nominations, and Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, both of whom received nods in the Big Four categories: Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist.

A significant surprise came with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who at 100 years old became the oldest-ever Grammy nominee. He received a nomination for Best Audiobook for Last Sundays in Plains, a collection of his Sunday School teachings.

The nominations, which were drawn from over 20,000 eligible entries, reflect the evolving tastes of the music industry.

This year, the Recording Academy expanded its voting body to include 2,000 new members, making the total number of voters 13,000.

The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 2, where voters will determine the winners in a star-studded ceremony.(CMM)
