“NO chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and ‘I Love Lucy’ reruns.”

Barry Manilow wrote this Monday as he announced his early-stage lung cancer diagnosis.

The 82-year-old Grammy-winning singer-songwriter shared on Instagram that the cancer was discovered after an MRI was ordered following a prolonged bout of bronchitis. He said it was “pure luck (and a great doctor)” that the tumor on his left lung was found so early.

According to an AFP report, Manilow will have the cancer surgically removed, prompting him to cancel shows scheduled for the remainder of December and January.

Doctors do not believe the cancer has spread, and he is undergoing tests to confirm their diagnosis.

Despite the health setback, the soft rock icon, known for hits such as “Copacabana” and “I Write the Songs,” expressed optimism about returning to the stage.

He plans to resume performing by mid-February 2026 and is looking forward to his Valentine’s weekend concerts at the Westgate Las Vegas, predicting the shows will be a festive reunion for fans.(MyTVCebu)
