THE Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas remains united and fully supported, Navotas City Representative Toby Tiangco said on Monday, April 14.

Tiangco—who also serves as campaign manager for the Alyansa Senate slate—reassured the public that the coalition is intact and going strong.

"The five-party Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, composed of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas-CMD, National People’s Coalition (NPC), National Unity Party (NUP), and Nacionalista Party (NP), is intact," Tiangco emphasized.

Shooting down rumors of discord, Tiangco said the group’s candidates continue to gain massive support across the nation, from local leaders to community-based organizations.

"Our candidates continue to receive overwhelming support both at the national and local levels, and even from grassroots organizations. This is something that we welcome and are proud of because politics is about addition, not division. It is about building coalitions. And in any election, every bit of support counts,” Tiangco said in a Manila Bulletin report.

Among those in the Alyansa lineup are former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, ex-DILG chief Benhur Abalos, past senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao, current senators Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, Bong Revilla Jr., and Francis Tolentino, along with Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar, and Rep. Erwin Tulfo of the ACT-CIS Party-list.

According to Tiangco, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally chose the Alyansa candidates for their strong background and impressive abilities. He added that they are included in the administration’s team because they are dedicated to the shared vision of Bagong Pilipinas.

“These individuals share the same vision for Bagong Pilipinas,” he said.

The campaign’s goal, Tiangco explained, is to gain widespread support and ensure every candidate has a chance to win based on their merit and commitment to the country.

“Every endorsement they receive shows that people believe in the President’s push for a new and better Philippines,” Tiangco added.

While Sen. Imee Marcos was originally part of the slate, she stepped back from campaigning with the group. Her decision came after she criticized the administration over the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court.(Loremie T. Bustria, CTU-TC Intern)
