THE University of Perpetual Help Altas sustained their unbeaten start while the Adamson University Falcons finally made their presence felt after they tallied separate wins in the 2025 Cebu City Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament on Friday night, August 22, at the Cebu City Sports Institute Gym in Barangay Sawang Calero.
The Olsen Racela-mentored Altas improved to 2-0 (win-loss) after drowning the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars, 78-62, while the Falcons broke into the win column by routing the University of San Carlos Warriors, 82-56.
John Abis and Mark Cruz fired 13 points each as Perpetual tied the College of St. Benilde Blazers at the No. 1 spot in the team standings.
Fritz John Gonzales finished with a game-high 18 points but the Jaguars remained winless after two games.
On the other hand, Cedrick Manzano tallied 17 points, three rebounds, and a block, helping the Falcons get back on their feet after starting the tournament with a loss to the Blazers.
Aj Fransman contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, and an assist while Matthew Montebon had 12 markers for the Nash Racela-coached Falcons.
James Enriquez collected 18 points, five rebounds and an assist, Kyle Maglinte wound up 13 points, six boards, two assists, and a steal as the Warriors faltered after opening their campaign with a hard-earned overtime win over the Jaguars.(CCM)
