MEMBERS of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club (CABC) are in for another intense hardcourt competition as the 3rd Boysen Cup fires off on Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Game Changer in Mandaue City.

All six teams manned by licensed Cebuano architects under the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) expressed readiness during the league’s press launch on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Leading the contenders is defending champion, Healthy Home.

As the defending champion, Healthy Home was allowed to retain its top five players. The rest of the teams have to assemble their respective starting units before participating in the main draft.

The draft pool will feature a total 118 licensed architects.

Healthy Home’s core include Mito Parba, Ferdinand Tiro, Mark Paradero, Dex Caadan, and Ryan Pepito.

Looking to unseat the defending champion are Virtuoso, Knoxout, Nation, Titan, and Color Series.

“This is not just about basketball but about strengthening connections and building camaraderie. Let’s make this year’s Boysen Cup memorable,” said Miggy Aparri, Boysen Paints’ assistant area manager for Cebu.

Also present at the launching were CABC co-chairmen Paolo Alberto and Oliver Tan.

The tournament will follow a single round-robin format with the top two teams after the classification phase advancing outright to the semifinals.

The bottom four teams will go through the knockout quarterfinal round.

The semifinals, finals, and battle-for-third will all be sudden-death affairs.(CCM)
