5 former 4Ps beneficiaries land top spots in 2026 LET
FIVE former beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) from Central Visayas emerged as top performers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
Leading the group was Jhade Vine Icot of Liloan, Cebu, who placed first in the elementary level of the LET.
Icot shared that the success of former 4Ps beneficiaries stems from perseverance and sacrifice, stressing that the assistance provided by the government served as motivation rather than dependence.
Joining her among the national topnotchers were Jean Mayeth Jaca and Jashmen Pason, both from Barili, Cebu, as well as Niña Naneth M. Reando of Danao City, Cebu, who all secured the fifth spot in the elementary category.
In the secondary level, Bliss Marie Abcede of Barili, Cebu also landed in the fifth place nationwide.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 said the achievements of these former 4Ps beneficiaries reflect the long-term impact of investing in education and human development.
Aside from the LET passers, another former 4Ps beneficiary brought pride to Central Visayas after Rico Elao of Alegria, Cebu ranked first in the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination.
According to DSWD-7, at least 37 former 4Ps beneficiaries from the region have already become board exam topnotchers since 2018.
Most excelled in the teachers’ licensure examination, while others topped professional tests in social work, customs brokerage, forestry, naval architecture, and marine engineering.
Many of these achievers came from financially struggling families that found it difficult to sustain daily needs and school expenses.
Through the 4Ps program, they received educational cash grants, health assistance, and monitoring support that allowed them to continue schooling and eventually pursue higher education.
“The growing number of board exam topnotchers among former 4Ps beneficiaries reflects the long-term impact of investing in education and human development,” said DSWD-7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero in a statement.
“These accomplishments inspire not only current student-beneficiaries but also other students across the region. They are proof that with determination, proper support, and opportunities, children from disadvantaged families can achieve excellence and become future leaders and professionals,” Lucero added.(MyTVCebu)
