FOUR Filipino boxers will get to see action on the global stage after they were chosen to compete in the first-ever World Boxing Council (WBC) Boxing Grand Prix in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Cebuano boxer Bryx Piala, David Santisima, Jerald Into, and Crisalito Beltran made it to the initial list of Filipino boxers who were included in the one-of-a-kind boxing spectacle, which will be held this April.
The four Filipino boxers are among the 128 fighters from 41 countries who will showcase their skills in five events.
The mega event will have the featherweight, super lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight categories.
Each category will be participated by 32 boxers.
A sure winner will emerge after each bout as fights will have no draws. Adding excitement is the open scoring after rounds 2, 4 and 6.
The tournament will also feature instant replay, ensuring fair and accurate scoring.
Champions will be awarded with the โJose Sulaiman Trophy,โ also known as the Flame of Hope.
No less than boxing legend Lennox Lewis presented the trophy during the eventโs launching.
