TWO persons were arrested while electronic cigarettes with marijuana oil were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City on Wednesday night, Jan. 28.

The target of the operation, a certain Zairah, eluded arrest, said Joel Plaza, regional director of the PhilIippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7).

Arrested were a certain Finley, 18, and Jeric, 30, who are both residents of Duljo-Fatima.

Seized from the two men were 20 e-cigarettes which contained a yellowish liquid believed to be tetrahydrocannabinol, an active component of marijuana.

The seized items were estimated to cost P50,000. The seized e-cigarettes were brought to the PDEA-7 Regional Office Laboratory for proper disposition.

Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said it took a two-week case buildup before the suspects were arrested.

Alcantara said that based on monitoring, most of the patrons of the target of the operation were call center agents, foreigners, and those who frequented high-end bars.

It was learned that Finley was previously arrested and was comitted to Operation Second Chance for illegal drugs.(CDB)
