THE highly successful “Kumong Bol-anon” boxing series of the PMI Boxing Promotions returns with the staging of its 18th installment on November 30 at the Booy Gymnasium in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
PMI’s top honcho, sportsman-lawyer Floriezyl Echavez Podot, announced that the card will be headlined by Shane “Sugar Shane” Gentallan, one of the fast-rising prospects of PMI Boxing Stable.
Gentallan will go up against fellow Boholano Roldan Sasan for the Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) minimumweight title.
The 26-year-old Gentallan is on a three-fight winning streak. The former World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental Youth minimumweight champion holds a 10W-1L, 5KOs record.
Sasan, 25, has eight wins, five losses, and a draw. His three wins came by way of knockout. Sasan is looking to get back on track as he is coming from a unanimous decision loss to Arnel Lofranco in July.
Gentallan’s stablemate Angilou “The Pinoy Ali” Dalogdog will also see action in the card looking to preserve his unbeaten slate.
Holding a 9W-0L,3KOs slate, Dalogdog will take on Francis “Amazing Boy” Diaz (8-8-1, 1 KO) of Cagayan de Oro in a 10-round light flyweight encounter.
Dalogdog is coming off a solid showing that saw him wrest the WBF Asia Pacific flyweight belt by beating Longyi Hu of China.
In contrast, Diaz has been in a slump after losing his seven fights.
Other undercard duels will have Richard Laspona (6-0, 4 KOs) battling Vergilio “Maton” Silvano (21-17-2, 12 KOs) and Camiguin’s Datu Adam (1-0, 1 KO) facing off with Bohol’s Anthony Galigao (10-23, 5 KOs).(CCM)
