MANNY Pacquiao will return to action on Jan. 24 next year.

No less than the “Pambansang Kamao” announced the date of his return, which will mark his second appearance after coming out of retirement.

“Hello to all my boxing fans. I’m excited to let you know I will be returning to the ring January 24 in Las Vegas,” Pacquiao said in a video posted on social media.

While the date of Pacquiao’s fight has been set, his opponent is yet to be determined.

“It is going to be an exciting and special event. Stay tuned. More news to come on my opponent in the next few days,“ he added.

Sporting a 62W-8L-3D record with 39 knockout wins, Pacquiao will already be 47 years old by the time of the fight.

There have been reports that Pacquiao’s next opponent will be Rolly Romero, the reigning World Boxing Association welterweight champion.

Romero has 17 wins and two losses, including 13 KO victories. He is coming off a solid unanimous decision over Ryan Garcia.

In his return, Pacquiao will look to reset his record as the oldest welterweight champion. He achieved the feat in 2019 after defeating Keith Thurman at the age of 40 years old.

That record was almost shattered when Pacquiao and Mario Barrios fought to a majority decision draw last July. The fight against Barrios ended Pacquiao’s four-year ring activity, putting on a superb performance before settling for a questionable draw decision.(CCM)
